Dear Readers,

My three-year, two-month run ended this week at the Washington Blade when the paper folded, and I'm so appreciative of the emails, calls, texts and tweets of concern that I've received from fellow writers, editors, publicists and friends. The Blade was an important publication for a lot of people, and it will be missed. This doesn't mean that I'm going to stop covering D.C.'s exploding restaurant scene, or stop attending every museum show that comes to town and sharing my thoughts on it — I will always be writing, and hopefully now I will be able to cover those topics that I feel very passionate about full-time.

I am grateful to the Blade for giving me a chance to break into D.C. media, but I'm also very excited, and ready, for what comes next. Continue to watch this space for drinks around town, restaurant reviews, art news and links to freelance work. When I land somewhere new, I'll let you all know.

Love,
Amy
