The National Geographic Museum is hosting a cool event next Wednesday. Dereck and Beverly Joubert are National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence and are visiting D.C. from their camp in Botswana for a reception and viewing of their exhibit Lions and Leopards: The Work of Dereck and Beverly Joubert.
The event is at 6 p.m. on June 17 at the Museum, which is located at 1145 17th St., NW. Tickets are $30 and proceeds will go to the Maasailand Lions Emergency Fund, a program created by National Geographic in partnership with the Jouberts to help protect the endangered lions in and around Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. For tickets, call 202-857-7700.
