Inaugural Restaurant Specials

It's by no means exhaustive, but here's a pretty good selection of specials around town. While I doubt I'm going to go near a restaurant this weekend (though I'd love to find another friend going to a ball — that's right, I lied, I am going to one — to go out to dinner with beforehand), some of these are pretty darn creative.

My favorite, though not honoring Obama: Jackson 20 (480 King St., Alexandria) named after President Andrew Jackson, will honor the “Jackson Inaugural Mob” with a Presidential Punch, made with Leblon Cachaca, Peach Schnapps, sparkling cider, house-made raspberry syrup, fresh apples, peaches and pineapple.

The mob was the massive crowd that turned up to witness his inauguration and hung out on the White House lawn. White House officials placated them with punch. Here's an article about the party, from a series I particularly love on The Smart Set.
