Art.Food.Hope

The Inauguration events keep on coming, and this one definitely makes me wish I had $500 hanging around.

José Andrés is on the committee for Art.Food.Hope, and is helping host a fundraising series of dinners on the eve of the inauguration. American chefs and artists (including Alice Waters, Tom Colicchio and Lidia Bastianich), will volunteer and host 12 dinners throughout D.C. on January 19. José will be hosting and cooking one of the dinners in his home. The dinners benefit D.C. Central Kitchen, Martha’s Table and FRESHFARM Markets.

Tickets are $500 per person. Visit dccentralkitchen.org to purchase tickets for yourself and your favorite blogger.

José's restaurants are also getting into the Inauguration spirit with special Inauguration Celebration Menus, offered during lunch and dinner service from January 19 through January 22. The pre-fixe menus will include three courses and be priced at Jaleo, Oyamel and Zaytinya for $25 for lunch and $35 for dinner, with the option to add a specialty cocktail for $44. At Café Atlantico, the Inauguration Celebration menu will be $25 for lunch and $44 for dinner. And for Inauguration Day, Oyamel will offer hot chocolate to-go for $5.

All the restaurants will also have extended hours. Restaurants will be open Sunday, January 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., on Monday, January 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. and on Tuesday, January 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
