The RAMMY nominations party is tonight, so I'll have those posted as soon as I get back. But in the meantime, the 2009 James Beard Foundation Award nominees were announced yesterday (via Twitter), so here are some local contenders.
— Johnny Monis of Komi is nominated in the Rising Star category.
— The Best Chef Mid-Atlantic nominees are Cathal Armstrong of Restaurant Eve, Peter Pastan of Obelisk, and Vikram Sunderam of Rasika.
— José Andrés is nominated for Outstanding Chef.
— The Washington Post is nominated for Newspaper Food Section, and Tom Sietsema for Newspaper Feature About Restaurants or Chefs and Restaurant Reviews.
