Friday night was the 75th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition, and celebrating with a party was totally required. The place to be was the City Tavern Club, a pretty space in Georgetown decorated for the holidays where the liquor flowed freely and everyone was dressed in 1930s-style clothing. It was the only party in recent memory where I was toasting with strangers and there was a point where everyone broke into "La Marseillese." I bailed before the after party but my favorite drinks were the black pepper pisco punch and Gina Chersevani's passion fruit cocktail.
I didn't bring my camera, so no photos, but we'll see what comes up on friends' cameras.
