Artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude will be speaking on Saturday at the Smithsonian American Art Museum about Running Fence, a film about their project to build a 24.5-mile fence of white fabric and steel poles through the hills of California's Sonoma and Marin Counties and into the Pacific Ocean.
Christo and Jeanne-Claude have upcoming shows at the Phillips Collection (Over the River, A Work in Progress, opening October 11) and at the American Art Museum in 2010.
