U Street Fundraising & Shopping Social

On Thursday evening some of the U Street stores will be holding special sales to raise money for the Sitar Arts Center, which educates young, needy residents of Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, and Mount Pleasant. From 6-10 p.m. stores including Simply Home (including the restaurant half as well), RCKNDY, Nana, and Junction (my roommate's store) will be offering discounts, gift certificates, wine, and other perks. 10% of the evening's proceeds will go to the Sitar Center.
