Where's the Maple Love?

After several conversations with family members this week about the upcoming holidays, I was very happy to see that my neighborhood Starbucks has brought out their holiday coffees, cups and food. I love the red cups with the blue sleeve and the cranberry bliss bars. But I'm not a fan of the peppermint mocha (or any mocha from Starbucks for that matter), and I'm more than a bit disappointed that the maple lattes didn't reappear this year.

Maple lattes were hands-down my favorite Starbucks item ever, and last winter I had a slightly-embarrassing conversation with a Starbucks employee when I thanked her for finally bringing them down to the District (they were available in New England two years ago and I got an unpleasant surprise when I visited D.C. two winters ago and they weren't available here). Am I the only one who wants them back? And does anyone know anywhere around here to get them? I know they're available in Vermont, but I won't be back there any time soon.

I found one! It's not at Starbucks, but Mayorga Cafe has a "Breakfast Maple Latte" that they are selling for the season. Yummy & local - can't beat that.

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to have to try one, especially since there's a Mayorga 2 blocks from my house.
